Daniel Graf von der Schulenburg – Principal
Daniel von der Schulenburg is the Program Manager of Hudson’s Solar Infrastructure Program and serves on its Investment Committee. He is also a cofounder of Sunlight Financial LLC, a specialty finance company focused on residential solar in the U.S. and a member of the Board of Directors of Element Power, a global power project development company. Since joining Hudson in 2008, Mr. von der Schulenburg has been actively involved in executing Hudson’s investments in various private equity and infrastructure opportunities representing over $500 million of investments including Landis+Gyr, Element Power, Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, GSE Investment Corporation, Direct Energy Solar’s residential loan program and various international portfolios of solar projects.
Prior to Hudson, Mr. von der Schulenburg founded and managed an advisory business specialized in acquisitions and development of timberland investments throughout Germany.
Mr. von der Schulenburg received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, England. At Cambridge he participated in the development of a novel technology to clean radioactive contaminated water, resulting in various scientific publications and a Research Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering. Mr. von der Schulenburg’s academic credentials also include a MSc in Business Management from the École Supérieure de Commerce Paris (EAP-ESCP) in Paris and a graduation with distinction from the Technical University Berlin in both Business and Engineering. He also worked for a NGO in Jerusalem and is fluent in English, German and French.
